Original Game: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Mod tools: Radiant (CoD4 Mod Tools)

Description:

On the edge of an abandoned city in Russia sits a dilapidated theater. Its stage has been empty for a decade, its seats unused. The roof has caved in and the windows that house the lobby have shattered. Now, after years of disuse, players will once again take to the stage, but this time the action is real, and the stakes higher. It's showtime!

Arathi Basin

Arathi Basin

Original Game: Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne

Mod tools: Warcraft III World Editor

Description:

This map is a blend of king of the hill gameplay and hero progression of “Aeon of Strife” (AoS) maps.  It is not as complicated as DotA; it has fewer heroes and no weapons or items to speak of other than potions.  Though inspired by the World of Warcraft battleground of the same name, it differs in a few ways.

First of all, the map is smaller than the original map featured in WoW.  For this reason, the only “graveyards” are the ones by each team’s base.  It takes less time to traverse the field, so there are no mounts.  This helps ensure that there is no break in the action during the game due to travel time.

Second, each battlefield objective is guarded by NPCs.  This is to help speed up the leveling up process and add some more depth to the gameplay.  It makes it a little easier for one player to capture and defend an objective.

Third, players have the option of playing with NPC heroes.  Warcraft III does not support 15v15 matches, so introducing the option of playing with NPC heroes makes this possible to further mimic the original map.
