Arts 60

Below you will find videos made for Arts 60 during the winter '08 quarter at UCI.

Apple 1984, iPhone Mash-Up (Winter 2008)

For our final project were were asked to create a mash-up. A mash-up is a video that contains appropriated footage that is combined to create a new meaning that was not present before. Although some mash-ups exist simply to cause laughs, others are more serious, and sometimes they even land critiques.

Make three 15-30 second short films that are somehow related by form or content.

Mount (Winter 2008)

Make a one-and-a-half to two minute video using still photography, and use the narrative cinematographic conventions of classical Hollywood cinema.

The Serpent (Winter 2008)

Made for Art 60, the prompt for this project was to use a non-fiction source and create a 60 second video. I chose the Bible because it is part of an argument about what constitutes non-fiction. If you believe something to be true, does that make it true? How do you know? What do we accept as fiction and non-fiction?

This is my final project for Arts 65B. We were tasked with making an animation using layers and final cut pro. This version does not yet have sound.

Kirsten's Treasure Map (Fall 2007)

Here is the movie that I helped make for competition in the National Film Challenge. We made it to the top 16 videos (out of 159), and we won best sound design! Woohoo!
